I woke up the next day, shivering from the cold.
I was lying on an ice-cold bed, Lin Feng’s tail wrapped around my legs and waist.
I couldn’t help but shudder.
Sensing my trembling, Lin Feng opened one eye and glanced at me.
“It’s freezing…”
He snorted, “You’ve got plenty of meat, you’ll be fine.”
“I keep telling you, it’s just a little belly!”
Unexpectedly, Lin Feng lifted my shirt and poked my chest with the tip of his tail.
“You’ve got two lumps of meat here too.”
“…”
I weakly slapped his hand away and quickly pulled my shirt down.
“You pervy snake!”
Lin Feng looked baffled, blinking at me in confusion.
“What’s with you all of a sudden?”
“You can’t just go lifting my shirt! I’m a woman… If you keep this up, you’ll never get married.”
“Pfft.”
He lifted my shirt again, this time poking my belly.
That’s when I noticed a strange tattoo had appeared on my stomach.
“What the heck is this?!”
I scrubbed at it with my hand until my skin turned red, but it wouldn’t come off.
“Tsk.”
Lin Feng grabbed my wrists with his large, cool hands, easily restraining me.
“Don’t bother. A mark like that doesn’t just rub off.”
Tears welled up in my eyes.
“Why… why do I have this thing on me?”
Lin Feng grinned, flashing his sharp fangs, and pulled up his own shirt.
That’s when I saw the same tattoo on his perfectly sculpted abs.
“See? Nothing to worry about. I’ve got one too.”
I swallowed hard.
It wasn’t the tattoo that got me—it was those abs.
What do I do?! This is way too sexy!
Lin Feng’s eyes darted mischievously as he let go of my wrists.
“Why are you staring? You’ve got one too, you know.”
I lied through my teeth, “I think mine’s a little different… Maybe I should check?”
Nervously, I reached out and, under Lin Feng’s intense gaze, bravely touched his abs.
Heaven!
The next second, his tail slapped my hand away.
“Are you looking for trouble? I’m warning you, everyone who touches me dies.”
That’s when I remembered—he’d injected me with venom. I should be dead by now. So why was I still alive?
Lin Feng seemed to sense my confusion and sighed.
“Who would’ve thought you’d kiss me out of nowhere? Whenever a demon has their first intimate contact with a human of the opposite sex, both parties get marked. From now on, our lives are linked.”
“Our lives are linked?!”
Was there really such a great deal in this world?
If I ever wanted to catch another demon, I could just run up and kiss them. That’d make my job so much easier!
Lin Feng’s face darkened, shattering my fantasy.
“Don’t even think about it. This only happens the first time you have intimate contact with someone of the opposite sex.”
I caught a subtle detail in his words.
“First time?”
I grinned.
“Don’t tell me… that was your first kiss?”
Lin Feng’s face turned bright red. He avoided my gaze and nodded stiffly.
“Hahaha!”
Who would’ve thought this dangerously attractive snake demon would have his first kiss stolen by me?
My grandma would probably crawl out of her grave if she heard about this.
“Laugh all you want. Wasn’t it your first kiss too?”
My laughter died instantly, and it was my turn to blush.
“Yeah… it was my first kiss.”
Lin Feng raised an eyebrow, clearly satisfied.
“Oh.”
“Oh what?!”
“So, does this mean you’re my demon now?”
I still couldn’t quite believe any of this.
Lin Feng lounged on the ice bed, giving me a sultry look.
“More or less.”
I lay down beside him, studying his handsome face, feeling a bit anxious.
“What do you mean, ‘more or less’?”
Lin Feng looked at me with disdain.
“We’ve got the master-demon mark, but I haven’t accepted you yet.”
“Accepted me?”
He leaned in close, his cold tail brushing my cheek.
“I’m a once-in-a-millennium snake demon, you know.”
“And what are you? Just a human with a bit of extra meat.”
He probably thought his words would crush my spirit, but I caught another detail.
I grabbed his tail as it slid over me.
“Come on, that’s a bit much! A thousand-year-old snake demon… and you still had your first kiss?”
“Or maybe, you were just saving it for me?”
Whack!
In a flash, Lin Feng’s tail sent me flying into the wall.
I swear, he hit me so hard my organs must’ve shifted.
“Annoying human… I really want to kill you.”
He loomed over me, looking down from above.
“If you kill me, you’ll die too, remember?”
Lin Feng grabbed me effortlessly and set me back on the bed.
“Unbelievable… Why are you crying now?”
“Who just throws someone against the wall in the middle of a conversation?”
Lin Feng panicked, patting my back gently with his tail, then sitting beside me.
“Alright, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
I turned away, still sniffling, refusing to look at him.
He leaned in, licking the spot where I’d been hurt.
“Don’t cry, okay? Let me heal you.”
“You’re just getting saliva all over me. How is that healing?”
“Silly, snake saliva is the best medicine for wounds. It’s the most effective remedy in the world.”
I stared at Lin Feng, completely bewildered. I’d never heard that before.
Lin Feng pulled me onto his lap.
“What the hell is happening to me?”
